I am just like everyone else. Working a 8-5 job with a “career” ahead of me. Yet it lacks passion. The passion of doing something that you love, and you blink your eye an hour passes by. I love doing PR for Ten 6 gaming, the AFK Podcast, and the AFK indie cast. That’s my passion! Talking to fans, twitter followers, finding the next cool indie game dev to interview, that’s what I love to do.
Last Friday, I took a couple days off and drove from Atlanta, GA to Shreveport, LA. It’s about a 9 hour drive and just a little over 600 miles. I dropped down my “career” and visited some friends I only met on the internet. I first learned about the Twin Engines Labs from another podcast that I listened to, Trinity Force Podcast. They interviewed Ken Hanson, a co-owner of TEL, about this new up and coming app– PentaKill App. I thought it was very cool, and being a PR lover, I sent them a twitter message. One small twitter message of “Hey I think you guys are doing something cool, want to talk more?” became a friendship that I would cherish for life. Ken Hanson and Keith Hanson are probably two of the coolest and lay back, yet passionate and intelligence people I’ve met. Keith’s knowledge toward business is 2nd to none; Ken’s passion toward marketing combine with designing has taught me a lot. To think these 2 twin brothers started this company by themselves 2 years ago with nothing but the passion in their heart is a fascinating story to follow. If you just sit down and spend 15 minutes with Keith and Ken, it’s almost certain that you would quit your job and work for them.
Then I suddenly realize….this is why I do what I do. I am not getting pay or incentive from Ten 6 gaming. We are just a group of friends talking about our favorite hobby, but yet I love to continue to be the PR person, to continue to look for another Keith and Ken out there. And believe me, I have met some great friends such as Adam from ggChronicle, and the host of the Trinity Force Podcast. There are great people out there that actually care about each other. Technology has developed to the point where you don’t have to meet someone before you become great friends with them. If you think you are passionate about something, don’t be afraid of trying it out. You might find what you love

I know what you mean. Felt the same way after my first trip to Atlanta.
